Entry and exit testing as well as test analysis are extremely important at The Port Hope Learning Centre.
All testing is done using The Orton Gillingham Program System, and a written report is prepared and given to parents. Parents are encouraged to share this information with the school principal and classroom teacher.
These tests clearly reveal whether the student can truly segment words and blend phonemes or whether they are "guessing" and drawing on a memorised word bank. Testing also accurately indicates the Reading and Spelling grade level. Initial testing is a two hour process .
