Natalie Gerry - Bio
Natalie Gerry is a Thunder Bay Personal Injury and Sexual Assault lawyer with an interest in human rights law. She is the principal lawyer and litigator at Gerry Law.
Natalie founded Gerry Law because she wanted to approach Personal Injury law and particularly Sexual Assault cases differently. Throughout her career Natalie has fought to ensure equal access for all before the law. That means every individual regardless of gender/identification, sexual orientation, and background should have the opportunity to seek compensation for their injuries. Natalie has designed the offices of Gerry Law to be an inclusive space meant to make everyone who enters feels safe and comfortable.
Originally from Sudbury Ontario, Natalie earned a master's degree and an honours degree. She moved to Thunder Bay to attend Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in its inaugural year. During her program, she co-founded the Women in Law Society, and the law school’s first student newspaper, The Compass. After graduation, Natalie articled and then accepted a position at Erickson and Partners – now Ericksons LLP – where she specialized in Personal Injury, Sexual Assault, and Human Rights Law. Natalie is an accomplished litigator who also appears regularly before the Superior Court of Justice and various administrative tribunals.
Natalie has passionately fought for women's rights all her life. In addition to her legal work, Natalie is a founding member of the Thunder Bay Branch of the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF), an organization dedicated to advancing substantive equality rights for women and girls through litigation, law reform, and public education. Natalie is a board member of the Thunder Bay Sexual Abuse Centre. She has also acted as an adjudicator with Lakehead University's Sexual and Gender-based Violence Panel. Natalie was a founding member of Women in Law at Bora Laskin Law School, she was the founding Chair of the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund, Thunder Bay Branch.
Natalie is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. She contributes regularly to their blog.
In her spare time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, Zeus and Rex, practicing yoga, and cross-country skiing.

J.B. v. R.B., 2021 ONSC 1023 (CanLII) Natalie successfully obtained judgment for her client, whose damages were assessed at just over $1,000,000.00.
Homer v. MacKay et al., 2020 ONSC 5283 (CanLII) Natalie successfully moved to set aside an administrative dismissal for delay so that her client could pursue his personal injury claim.
Pretto v. Almgren, 2020 ONSC 6966 (CanLII) Natalie brought a claim for a purchaser in negligent misrepresentation against the sellers of a home that had undisclosed deficiencies. The Court found that the sellers had negligently misrepresented the state of the home. The decision was upheld on appeal to the Divisional Court.
Bodnar v. The Estate of Peter Boban, 2020 ONSC 2006 (CanLII)
Natalie acted for a mortgage lender and successfully brought summary judgment against the borrower who argued that the interest rate on the mortgage had been reduced.
The matter was appealed to the Ontario Court of Appeal, where Natalie argued that the appeal should be dismissed. The Court of Appeal agreed and the Superior Court judgment was affirmed. Bodnar v. Boban Estate, 2021 ONCA 746 (CanLII).
